Using a Tow Dolly

I have a 2001 Fleetwood Southwind 36RS and I just purchased a tow dolly for my 2006 Chevrolet HHR. I am trying to figure out how much drop do I need to tow safely. And where can I find the ball mount for the amount of drop I need. I thought, after measuring, that an 8" drop would work but when I set it up, the tow dolly hitch is not level. It looks like the ramps were lower than I would like. HELP!!!

Ask the dolly manufacturer for the correct ball height. My Demco KK-460 is 18" as I remember.
I say "as I remember" because I went four down in 2006 or so.

My Stehl Tow required 17" or 18" to the top of the ball.

ACME has different requirements than those in the prior posts. I agree, find out from the dolly manufacturer. As a side note, a drop hitch also lowers the hitch rating. An 8” drop will put a lot of torque into the hitch.
