Using Rear Camera While Towing

Not sure if this has been covered or not but I need to know if you leave the rear camera on while towing? Is there any possiblity of damaging display screen if it is on full time while moving? Don't mean to ask dumb questions so please don't beat me up to bad.

No problem at all with having it on. Good thing to do to keep an eye on the Toad.

Always on, with or without the toad.

Few years ago my tow bar broke leaving the toad swaying by the safety chains. Camera helped in pulling over with minimal damage.

Having the TV rear view camera on will not hurt it. Having the ability to view the Toad, and traffic to the rear of the RV is really, really helpful. I use the rear view camera to check traffic before I make any lane changes, also when braking at an intersection to see if everyone is doing what needs to be done to slow down and stop, and I also use the camera to confirm that I am clear of any vehicle as I am passing them. Very excellent tool for driving safely. I urge all to use their rear view cameras to keep them safe.
Regards,
JB

How do you keep it on? mine only comes on when you put it in reverse. That would be a nice option,I have thought about trying to by-pass the reverse thing.

Don't you have a power button?

If the power button is "off" mine will only come on when I am in reverse. However, if the power button is "on" camera is always on. Default is to show the rear but I also have the side cameras that will come on when I put either directional on or I can manually set whichever view I want but reverse will always over ride any manual setting.

I worked for a Fleetwood dealer. I never saw a Fleetwood product that could not be driven with the back up camera on. that includes my 98 Pace Arrow.I like to keep it on to be sure when to pull back in when passing someone.

Macantic-you should have a power button that will turn it on all the time. And I also leave mine on all the time while towing toad.

Always on - I never change lanes without checking out that monitor, as well as the review mirrors.
