I know it's not the same, but I towed a 2012 VW Passat on a Acme EZ Tow dolly. Worked great. If you call VW, they won't be much help.

According to Remco, it has to be towed on a dolly.

You'll need to dolly with the front wheels off the ground. The transmission will not be lubricated if the input shaft isn't turning (which requires the engine to be running).

Isn't the Tiguan AWD? If so you may not even be able to tow it on a dolly.

It's available with two wheel drive or AWD.

Koop,

Just curious if you could expand on this?

It seems that people have been successful flat towing 6-speed manual transmission Volkswagens, even without VW's "authorization."
