The Mazda B4000 shares the same underpinnings as the ford ranger with the 4.0l IF the truck has "auto" 4x4 option it can be equiped with neutral tow feature, you or a dealer can install the kit ( all electrical) note the switch on the dash MUST SAY 4x4L - 4x4H- AUTO
Ford made 3 different 4x4 systems for ranger/Mazda there is only two that can be towed 4 down, the one I mentioned above and the floor mounted MANUAL SHIFTER nothing else, I beleive the other one is called SOTF (shift on the fly) it states 2H on the dash.

I installed a Blue Ox baseplate on my Ranger myself. I put a Blue Ox plate on my DW's CRV which is an easy install. However, the Ranger install was even easier than the CRV. Both make great toads. We use the Ranger when we want to take the motorcycle along. Otherwise the Harley sometimes gets lonely if it has to stay home alone for long periods. Or wait, maybe it was the owner gets lonely for the Harley. We just do whatever the DW ok's.

I contacted Blue Ox but they do not have a baseplate for my Mazda year.
Roadmaster XL series baseplate appeared to be a much more involved install so....

Purchased a Demco Baseplate. Arrived yesterday.... hope to install when the weather improves. Also purchased Demco adapters to put on the Roadmaster Falcon 2 All terrain bar that I picked up on Ebay...

Thanks to members of this site for the great source of information to newbies.
