Interesting twist but my understanding is you can't dolly a Jeep 4x4 unless you have disconnect hubs [perhaps something about the transfer case]. Jeep Wranglers are the perfect toad for 4-down. IMHO, older jeeps probably have more solid OEM bumpers, so look at attaching the Blue Ox pull tabs right to the stock bumper. I got in a hurry and installed the base plate for my 06--in retrospect, I would have spent the money on an after market bumper with tabs. Besides cost, if you do any off-roading, the base-plate lowers your approach angle.
