3 months ago we got a 2011 Ford Edge Sport AWD and love it. It has the same motor as the Ford Mustang 3.7 with 336 gears and it is quick. Last Friday we got it set up to tow with the Roadmaster base plate, Air Force One, lights, new Roadmaster BlackHawk 10,000lbs tow bar and the Roadmaster EZ Hook Safety Cables sweet setup. Hookup and unhooking is a snap now.

My old tow bar was 10 years old rated at 6000lb, got a wt on the Edge 5050lbs bigger is safer.

Good to hear!! Hopefully she'll make a full recovery and be back to RV'ing ASAP!
I know what you mean about the medication. My DW has liver cancer so is experiencing pain and the meds do strange things to her too!

Ray...I missed this thread until now and can only say how hard it is to look at the car pics and hear of your Wife's injuries. I'm glad she is improving and hope it continues a quickly as possible.

Best wishes to both of you!

Ray,
My wife and I are sending prayers for a speedy and full recovery!
We just bought a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox AWD and it tows great. We really like it. You might check them out in your search. Take one for a test drive and see what you and your wife think.
Good luck in your search!

RV & Trailer Towing Guides | fleet.ford.com

For 2015/6 Fords there are several Cars, SUVs, and Cross-Overs that are AWD and flat-towable, but didn't see the Escape listed.
Thanks, I just read that 2014 was the last year the Escape was flat-towable.

I find it hard to believe the Dr. told her she could use a walker and put weight on her knee, but he did. She has no control over her knee at all, the full-length brace is the only thing holding her leg straight. I'm a nervous wreck all day long, that she will trip or fall and further damage her knee and hip.
I suppose I gotta have faith in the Dr./surgeon, he does all the knee surgery for the Indianapolis Colts.

DW is still healing and improving. Her next surgeon appt. is May 13, at which time he will make the final determination for surgery and how extensive. The Dr did clear her to go camping, even told her how to climb into and out of the MH.
We bought a new car for her today. It is flat-towable, with no modifications, only restriction is towing limit of 65 MPH, which is not an issue since we seldom reach 65, even descending a grade.

Lincoln MKZ AWD.
Oddly enough it was within $500 of a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4X4. The comfort and ride, and interior leg room however is amazingly better.
I will sell my Chevrolet Silverado Duramax dually and buy a late-model 1/2T pickup to tow; at least until the new car smell is gone from her MKZ.
