What braking system to use for 2020 Jeep JL

I have the wiring harness (Cooltech) and tow loops (Maximus-3) now have no idea what braking system to use. What are others with the JL or JT using for brakes?

I installed an Invisibrake in my JL. I have had good luck with the unit. I have used it in three different Toads.

Have you bought a tow bar yet? I bought the same tow loops as you and just ordered a Ready Brute Elite II tow bar with built in surge brake. The system looks super simple and is a pretty genius design. If you go to https://www.readybrake.com they are giving 15% off entire orders for the holidays.

I had my Maximus-3 tow loops sent directly to them so they could figure out which adapters would work. They confirmed their Barricade bumper adapters (part #10036) will work.

I haven't seen any of my stuff yet as I just ordered it on Thursday. I should have it this Wednesday and will report back then.

I have the CoolTech harness in my JLUR and installed the Air Force One for braking. Towed it almost 7000 miles this year and everything worked fine. If you decide on the AF1, I have some pictures of the vacuum splice and install locations.

I also have the CoolTech harness … but use a BrakeBuddy unit as we tow both our vehicles and just switch it back and forth. Just got back from a 7,500 mile trip towing the JL and all went fine.

Did you install the breakaway switch? Did you add the Cooltech gizmo that makes the 12volt plug in the JL hot while the ignition is off? A friend of mine gave me a Brake Buddy Classic last week. The unit appears to work perfectly and I'm torn between in stalling the Break Buddy system or just using the Ready Brake Elite tow bar along with the Brake Buddy I was given. He also gave me the alert system so I know when the brakes are being applied.

Take a good look at the M&G series 2 braking system. Quality products.

Yes I do have breakaway switches on both tow vehicles. They are easy to add. I did not add the 12 volt charger however and have towed for 4-days straight and not had any low voltage issues so far. I just plug the Brake Buddy into the 12-volt plug in the back cargo area which is hot all the time.

Patriot II, so easy and can be used in any vehicle... Lots of choices. I also use it on our Gladiator!
