Good eye. No, the crew cab was just a test drive / color check. I didn't realize that was the truck in that photo.

macnut,

I see you have a smaller Class A with a toad (we have an ACE 27.1). This will be our first year towing (Equinox).

How does your MH pull? Does it feel comfortable? Have any issues?

Looks great, by the way!

Thanks, T_Van,
The CRV tows great. The Itasca is rated to tow up to 7,000 pounds and the hitch 5,000 pounds, so the 3500 pound CRV is well within the range. It tows like it isn't even there! I turned on the rear view camera the first time I towed it just to make sure it was still there. If I didn't have a camera, I probably would have pulled over! :-) I do notice a little extra push going down a steep grade, however, and for long grades will likely have to shift down further than without the CRV, taking it a bit slower. However, the Itasca still handles great in winds and when being passed by large trucks. Gas mileage seems to be reduced about 1/2 mpg...though I'll have have a better sense of that after a few more trips. The tow defender so far has done the job, too...no chips on the CRV front end yet..knock on wood..

That beetle is cool! We saw a similar year bus being towed at a KOA a couple of years ago and was equally cool.

We are towing a 2009 Chev Cobalt LT auto trans, we purchased as a dedicated toad, using an AventaII towbar and Brakepro 9300, with our 2006 Fleetwood Southwind 32V. The Cobalt is 2800 lbs, and tows with 4 down, put it in neutral and go. Don't even know it is behind us.

SRT10 Didn't think of this as an option

Thanks for posting this as I did not even think of this as an option. We were looking at KIA's, Fiat's and Hyundai's, all about the same price and this just seems like the best choice.

A couple of questions, I assume at this price you got the 2 WD, the motor home towing guide do not show any conditions to set up for towing, is this your experience...just put it in neutral and go?

Baseplate install and brake install, how complicate was it?

Would you consider the 4WD if you were to do it again?

Thanks again for opening up my options.

Regards,

Jim

Had this rugged little guy for awhile. Depending on where we're going it carries the canoe on top and kayaks on the lower bars or the lower bars get removed and it carries the Harleys.
