2014 CR-V The last towable CR-V. I hope they come up with a towable transmission before I need a new one.

It sure is fun to drive -- especially after driving the MohoL
They look like they would be fun to drove.

On our way back from the coast to Phoenix, OR one evening on hwy 199 while still in CA driving the Geo Metro we were going up a fairly steep sustained grade to a tunnel. There was a passing lane on the hill for a considerable distance and one of those Smart cars passed us with the Metro doing everything it could in 4th gear. I couldn't believe it. As soon as we got home I got on the computer to get the specs on the Smart and found it had just a bit more horsepower with similar weight. Perhaps, as you say, weight is different for different model years. Probably a lighter one that passed us. :-)) Cute little cars.

Steve
I'd be interested in hearing more about the Spitfire. I have a '73 and have been contemplating buying one of those small Aluma trailers to haul it behind the motorhome. The problem with the Spitfire is it has such low ground clearance that hitting a road gator would likely do some significant damage.
Not to mention hitting the occasional roadkill raccoon. Yuck.

Speaking of Smart Cars have you seen one carried sideways? Mine is only 8'8" long. Occasionally I will park mine with her nose to the curb.

As my sig states, a 2005 Honda Odyssey. Curb weight is given as 4,537#'s in the specifications and we regularly added 1,000#'s to that when we had our mobile business.
Towed fine behind the '02 DSDP with ISC 350 and Banks kit.
Tows easier with the present rig. Yesterday I forgot to hook up the braking system in the Ody and never even noticed it wasn't working.

I have four wheels on the trailer, towing the Crosley. Does that qualify? Technically it could be towed four down, but the club advises against it, as it could slip into gear. It has a 3 speed non syncromesh transmission, so you have to double clutch to change gears. We do tow DW's '16 Chev Sonic.

It will be a while before I can tow/haul our Spitfire as it is currently down for some restoration. It had been restored when we bought it in the very early '90s but after using it all those years it was beginning to look a bit shabby. I'll figure out how to transport it after it is back up and running.

There was a recent thread titled "Triumph" here that discussed different methods of transporting Spitfires. I tried to get a link for you without success, but a search should turn it up. I think a trailer would work well, and that was brought up in the discussion. They are, as you say, close to the ground.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

My major issue with a trailer or tow dolly is that it give you a third vehicle to license, insure and find a place to park.

Not to mention if you get in a bind and have to disconnect.
