The late model Mustangs have a 6R trans and that's the same trans used in an F150. So I don't know why they could not be flat towed.

Hmm, Ford says no.

This is a section from their 2013 Ford Mustang owner's manual.

Recreational Towing
Note: Put your climate control system in recirculated air mode to prevent exhaust fumes from entering the vehicle. See the Climate Control chapter.

Follow these guidelines if you have a need for recreational (RV) towing. An example of recreational towing would be towing your vehicle behind a motorhome. These guidelines are designed to ensure that your transmission is not damaged.

Do not tow your vehicle with any wheels on the ground, as vehicle or transmission damage may occur. It is recommended to tow your vehicle with all four (4) wheels off the ground, such as when using a car-hauling trailer. Otherwise, no recreational towing is permitted.

I towed a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, Ecoboost, 365HP for a couple years. It was FAST but not very practical. My CRV is practical but not nearly the same car as the SHO. I guess it's a sign of age.

They told me I won at finding the fastest car.. The world's fastest car is a Jet Powered car that has broken the sound barrier,, You can check it out at any of the world's record sites.

And since it has no transmission, or differential or power to the wheels (it is jet powered after all) it can be towed 4 down.. From the rear (it is a rear steer job).

My 1960 will do 120 and it can be flat towed. Drifter would leave me in the dust!

In 4-low off-road, my Wrangler is not fast. Just more fun than street stuff.
