Jeep Wrangler. Been dragging one for near 15 years -- no issues -- no concerns. Just glad to have it back there when its needed.

We tow a 03 jeep liberty. Great toad. Use brakemaster air brake system and road master bar, added light sockets to isolate wiring, works great!

We agree with SteveSkinner. We've had several Subarus as toads. The reason we like them as there are absolutely no restrictions (no fuses to pull, no starting engine after so many miles, no speed restrictions, etc.) The new Outback should be similar in size to a RX 350.

And that Motorhome Magazine list is limited to only manufacturers that give implicit permission. There are quite a few other vehicles that can be towed that are not on the list. The Remco list is more inclusive click here.

So if you're not adverse to shifting gears manually, there are other vehicles that can be towed that are not on that Motorhome Magazine list such as Mini Coopers, VW's, etc. A general rule of thumb is that just about "any FWD with a 5-speed manual can be towed four-down."

What we tow and use

Hello we tow a 2008 Chevy Avalanche 4X4 simple to tow no fuses no lube pump. Apply parking brake, start engine place trans in "N" push brake and turn Transfer knob to "N" position wait till the red light comes on put trans in park turn off engine release parking brake remove key and you done. The truck has a nice locked covered back for lot of room as we need the room for storage as we store our Motor Home 3 hrs from our home.

I have always loved the Avalanche. How do you keep the steering wheel unlocked with the key out?

Most if not all GM trucks and SUVs have not had locking steering wheels since about 2004.

Good to know. The last Yukon I owned was a 2002. I have a 2012 Buick Enclave and that requires the key be turned to accessories to unlock the steering.

We tow a 1993 Ford Ranger. DH loves his firewood, so it is the perfect toad for us!

We now tow our 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring.

Used to tow a 2008 Malibu - but GM could not figure out how to keep it running properly. So - traded it for the Honda and now wish we had done it instead of the Malibu.

God Bless

Bill
