Not without a transmission lube pump.

If you contact or go on line to REMCO they are very helpful with Make, Year and Models of vehicles that can be towed and they can usually provide a driveline disconnect or Lube pump that will allow you to tow 4 down.

You can flat tow with a driveshaft disconnect. I have a 2007 set up by the original owner with the disconnect and us gear brake system. BTW, mine is an auto.

I now tow a 2005 Honda Element am think about selling and buying 2013 Nissan Frontier automatic, understand I need to buy disconnect drive. Any one know if this works OK

I have been towing my tacoma 4 down with the Remco driveline disconnect. Works well although I haven't bothered hooking up the cable and shift mechanism. I just crawl under and slide the collar by hand. A little bit of a pain, and maybe I'll get around to hooking up the shift mechanism.

Trouble is that Remco doesn't test all the units so they can't really say. Ask them to repair you trans if you take their advice and it fails!

Well, the 2005 Element wasn't approved by Honda for four down towing either.

Say what? We purchased the 2005 Element because it IS approved for four-down towing. 2006 is not. Same darned car, but Honda decided to quit suggesting it approves towing. I think it had more to do with a non competition agreement with Saturn who was buying Honda engines and transmissions. Of course Saturn approved towing.

Our Honda dealer sent out a letter to all 2005 Element owners saying they wanted to purchase them back if we wanted to sell. They had many prospective buyers who wanted the "towable 2005 Element". I'm not going to sell.

Nope, it's not. I got that info direct from Honda and their legal dept. back in 2005 when they changed their story.
The only Honda's that are towable after 2004 were the Fit and CR-V. We went all through that before Honda paid for our towing gear. I even asked for them to do a buy back or go to another model like the Pilot and they said the Pilot wasn't towable either. Only the CR-V and then, later, they added the Fit.
