Windshield cover for my dinghy
I have mud guards on my class C to protect my dinghy.....my towed Mini Cooper. And, I just purchased a 'Bra' for the front end. But, I believe for necessary protection, I also need to shield my windshield. All sources of windshield covers are for ice, snow, etc....in a static condition. I want something that will stay secured being pulled behind my RV.
Can anyone suggest a source?

I went to a local upholstery shop and had one made that snaps in with three snaps along the bottom and has "wings" that are secured when the doors are closed over them. Inside, I have two bunnies cords that go from side to side that pull it tight. Total cost was about $75.
I had this made specifically for our Alaske trip but to be honest, since then I've never used it. But it did serve us well through Alaska. Others without a windshield cover had broken windshields.

As a side note, any of these covers will result in some sort of scuffing of the paint finish. Before you use them, you should take this into consideration.
In the case of our AK trip, it was worth it but as stated, but, I don't use it anymore for this reason.

Home grown worked for us
We used reflectix on our toad for our 12,000 mile run to Anchorage from Georgia and back. We bought the roll of reflectix at a local Home Depot, duck taped the splice and the edges to make it a proper height from firewall to roof, then applied adhesive velcro tabs on the car windshield and reflectix on the windshield edges. To make it secure we added straps taped to the reflectix around the outside of the reflectix then ran them through the front car windows back around for a full loop.
Maybe cost $25- $30 for the whole job?
Was easy to take off and put on. No damage on the windshield at all in spite of much dirt road and flying gravel!.

Windshield Cover
Thanks all........
I believe I'll use americanrasc's method, modified as:
I'll make (I have a HD sewing machine that I used many times to make canvas things....during my sailing days ) a windshield cover using Sunbrella material....and then line it with Reflective. I can also use the left-over Reflective material to make door window solar covers on the F450.

I too would like to warn about using 'bras' for any length of time...
had a nice little sports car I loved the red paint job on SO much that I bought a bra for it...
Thought I was doing good and the bra actually LOOKED good on it too...
a while later pulled it off for something and the paint was not only scuffed in places, but the fading was different under it than not...
Moral of it, if you buy a bra, buy two or three of them for replacements when it wears out, because you will need to keep one until the next paint job

Yes we did also use the protect a tow device on our Alaska run. It did well, but when on the dirt/gravel and chip seal portions Alaska Highway the toad got covered with a good bit of gravel-- even found stone piled on the hood and windshield!
I thankfully had decided to use the extra reflectix to fashion covers for the grill and headlights on the Ford Focus toad and had no damage to those parts.
Wish I could have figured a way to fashion reflectix to protect the moho windshield too for that trip. It was broken three times - the last hit created quite a large crack requiring replacement of the entire windshield. $$$$$
