Cool Tech! How does this harness differ from the rest? I have a 2012 JK @ Door. Is it that much better than the Plug and Tow? Do you have a link to install instructions?

Our kit is easier to install. Has Heavy duty sheathed cable to run up front (compared to ribbon wire). Our kit includes a 4-pin plug and mounting bracket. Our kit is less expensive.

Cooltech is the way to go and especially for JK Wranglers. No diodes required and the harness is simple plug and play. Comes with the 7 to 4pin umbilical cord and a battery disconnect if needed (I see no real need on the JK Wrangler). I used a fish tape and pulled the cord right through the frame, so a min. of routing and wire tying was required.
Hopefully the company has improved their customer support by answering the phone and emails to potential buyers.
This criticism is for their benefit, as there have been many including myself who in the past were reluctant to order from them without some conversation before hand. Testimony from users of their product is what prompted me to order anyway and take my chances. I must say that they were prompt, efficient, and did keep me informed with shipping info up until delivery which didn't take long by most standards.

I will quickly show my lack of knowledge on this subject, but here is my question.
I have a Blue Ox supplemental braking system that, I believe, uses the 2007 Jeep battery for power. I have used a neutral post battery disconnect switch in the past and the braking system didn't work. Now, I carry a battery power pack to start the Jeep if it discharges too much and leave the battery fully connected.
How does the CoolTech system avoid discharging the Jeep battery while keeping the braking system working?

I have the M&G system with break away. After several years of use I discovered that the break away was not functional when battery disconnect (installed on negative terminal) was used to disconnect the battery. Discussions with M&G technical folks I was told that the disconnect needed to be on the positive terminal. I had that done and the break away now works. You might check with your tech support to see if this would fix your problem.

Cool Tech is just the wire harness for the lighting functions. Your brake system evidently requires power to work as you say, so my suggestion would be to bring hot wire back from the coach and through the connector if you're using the 7 pin like me and use that to keep your toad's battery charged. If you go this way with CT, then you won't be able to use their standard wiring harness as it uses only 4 pins with no spares. I'd make my own or have a 7 to 7 standard made up which should handle everything imaginable.
I get by with theirs because I use a READYBRUTE/ELITE for my towing and braking needs, which doesn't require any elect. power. Also my toad doesn't have a steering lock to contend with either. Most of these will discharge the toad battery as well.
Having said all this, I wasn't completely comfortable with the way READYBRAKE's dash indicator works, so I did make up a 2 conductor cord and wire tied it alongside COOL TECH's umbilical cord to plug in my own system that I installed on the toad. I didn't disturb theirs in the process and can switch back and forth at will.
