Wiring a 2007 GMC Canyon as a Toad

Has anyone wired a GMC Canyon as a toad using bulb and socket, is there enough room to fit them in, or did you use a diode wiring kit? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Art

I used diodes on a 2006 Colorado (same truck). Worked great for over 75,000 tow miles. I'm a bit reluctant to drill into the tail lights. I've shattered plastic trying to drill it, and these lights are costly.

Put Blue-ox bulbs in my 2007 Colorado. Just followed the Blue-ox instructions, able room, no issues over 3 years. I like it, would do it that way again.
