I tow a 2006 Vue 6 cyl. AWD fitted with Blue Ox base plate and use a Blue Ox Aventa II tow bar. Use a Brake Buddy Classic, lights are configured with diodes.
It is a great tow vehicle, easy to tow due to it's relatively light weight, and fun to drive as well.
My only complaint is the requirement to pull the 30 amp. IGN fuse if towing for more than a couple of hours. I suppose I could make a by-pass fuse but I don't have the smarts to do that. There are several manufacturers that make these switches but not for the 6 Vue. The other method to get around the fuse pull is to run a charge line from the MH but my connectors are only 4 wire.
The set-up requirements as outlined in the manual must be followed to the letter or the transmission will be toast.
There are some weak points to these vehicles, the biggest being front suspension components which tend to get noisy over time. Front wheel bearings are another.
There are tons of these things being used as toads and I'm sure other owners will chime in on this post.
Even though Saturns are orphans parts are readily available.
