1000 trails

Hello everyone the other day when trying to find a RV campground when calling place to place a few of them asked if I was a member of 1000 trails. It is like a discount program and you would pay an annual fee of say $545 for the year and as we speak they said they're offering $100 off so it would do would be $445. Some of the campgrounds that I was calling we're trying to charge up to $450 for seven days. A bit more than I'm used to paying . Anyway they said your first 30 days at any campground in the zone you pick will be free therefore after it would be three dollars a day every time you stayed and this is good for a year. Anyone heard of it or tried it opinions anyone thank you

Here's one of the many threads on this site, about Thousand Trails.
Thousand Trails zone membership
I had a zone pass for two years. The first year I got "free" when I bought a new MH in Mar. 2013. I only used it once, a month or so before it expired. The park I used it at wasn't bad (TT in Clermont Fl). The rate to renew was $500 something or other, which wasn't worth it to me. I'm retired (just over 5 years now), but my wife is still working (she retires Nov 30). They offered me a one year renewal at $199, which I did buy. I used it about twelve nights, I think it was. I went to the Clermont park (3? more times) and once to another park on the Peace River in Wauchulla Fl. I believe there are only 3 TT parks, in the whole state of Fl.
My membership expired in June and there was no mention of a discounted renewal rate. so I let the membership lapse.
