1979 holiday rambler class c bunk matress

Can any give me any advice on where to purchase a reasonable priced matress for my over the cab bunk bed area. I have a bed that can slide to a single or pull out to a full. When you pull it out you then have in the middle a 1 to 2 inch drop that makes it very hard to sleep. Any ideas what kind of matress to stick up there? The roof is somewhat close

You might look at some of the memory foam mattresses at WalMart. These are inexpensive and can actually be trimmed to fit.

We would also recommend getting the Froli Sleep System for under the mattress. It will keep mildew from growing and will allow you to adjust your side (or the complete mattress) for firmness and it has a low profile. The mattress can have a minimum thickness of 3 inches this is especially good when you have a close roof. We have it on our boat and it makes your bunk feel like a real bed.

You can also make one if you have a sewing machine. You can get the foam from just about any fabric store as well as the fabric to cover it. What I would recommend if you do this is to get the foam and wrap a layer of batting or Dacron about it then pull the cover over it and you have for a few dollars done it yourself. This way you get to determine the density of the foam you have chosen and the comfort level.
