1985 CJ7 Jeep

Can a cj7 4x4 with Quadra-Trac be towed 4 down ?????????????

Not sure,..... Hold it,. Wasn't the last year for Quadra-trac 1979??

Are you talking about the borg warner Quadra-Trac? (full time 4WD, they didn't have locking hubs)

One way you could tow it 4 down for sure. pull both driveshafts and tie them up.

Quadra-Trac = no, unless you disconnect driveshafts.

Thanks everyone. Jeep does not have Quadra-Trac. It has a inline 6 with a 5 speed manual and lock out hubs. Jeep was from California and has NO rust. It was in a barn for last 20+ years.

OK then i think the procedure is
hook it to your RV then
place Transfer case shifter in Neutral
place Transmission shifter in any gear
AND lock both of the front hubs.

Then make sure as you move your RV the front driveshaft turns.

I've been told if you don't spin that front driveshaft a D300 Case will not get lubed.
