1st timer with questions.

My wife and I will be flying to the DFW this Friday to finish our paperwork on our first RV ever. I have so many questions, I dont know where to start. I picked up some reading materials. The idiots guide to RVing 3rd edition. Havent gotten to far but learning a lot already.

We will fly in get shown how everything works, spend the night on the dealers lot and the next morning start heading home. Its only a 4 hour drive home but is there anything I should buy right off the bat?

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new RV!

If you're buying from a dealer, hopefully they'll ensure that all is road worthy but the first thing I'd suggest you buy is a good tire gauge.

Best of luck.

Rick

Tire gauge. Check.

Thanks. It's a new rv so I would hope it be road worthy. I'm so excited! Why can't Friday get here already!

Good luck with you new RV! Hope it is everything you expect it to be.
If the dealer hasn't already supplied it, a drinking water hose, Electric extension cord with adapters to plug into virtually anything, and a good quality sewer hose.
Hopefully the dealer will also make sure you leave the lot with a full tank of gas and a full tank of propane.

You might also consider getting the dealer to get it weighed for you. 4 corner weights if possible. then you can get on the tire mfg site to get correct inflation numbers for the tires. If they can't (or won't) get it weighed, maybe they can direct you to a scale nearby.

Just accept the fact that you will be learning things about the RV for the next year. The dealer cant tell you everything.

Yeah I know I will learn a lot on my own and through here. I plan on using and trying everything out the night we get to spend on the dealers lot. So if anything seems odd, out of place, or I just cant figure something out I can let them know in the morning.

Check all the fluids for level and condition. Do not assume that the dealer did.
