2001 31C Fun Mover Rebuild

I am in the process of rebuilding a 2001 31C Fun Mover. The Fun Mover was damaged at the front right of the cab over and the AC unit was ripped from the roof from a low hanging tree branch. The preservation of this coach from water intrusion was not a priority by the former owner. In Fact the Coach is in such bad condition, the owner made me a deal I could not pass up.

My background is Residential Restoration from Fire and water damage and also spent 10 years doing Automotive Restorations. While the damage is major, I'm looking forward to the rebuild. The information on this site will be valuable to me for the project and maybe my background will help others.

My plan is to document the repairs through pictures and descriptions here.

The demo work has started and will added pictures soon.

The work list:

1. Completed Cab Over rebuild without front window
2. Complete Roof
3. Restore Interior
4. Build new Cabinets where needed
5. New AC, Vents, and Sky Light
6. Filon repairs
7. Repair Floor decking and install new Laminated Floor
8. Refinish Wood work
9. Custom Cab over exterior trim
10. Complete Exterior Paint Job

This is the short list It will grow.

Let the work start,

Pictures, pictures, pictures please!

Have a bit of a restoration project going on and on. A '97 gulfstream that the previous owner ignore at a storage lot (quite a bit of water damage). Fortunately he was a fanatic at mechanical maintenance.
The biggest project was moving the kitchen from the center of the coach to the back "bedroom". It's a small class c, the back bed was a corner cut full. Had to re-plumb, move the fresh water tank, move/change the heating ducts, change the gas lines (learned current code, love the internet), etc., etc. But it allowed so much more living space in the center of the coach. Of course ended up turning the dinette into a fold out (jack knife style) couch to a full bed. The old oven/microwave area is now the media center (27" TV, satellite, DVD, mifi, internet, etc.).
Of course then the new floor, cab overhead, outside paint, and on and on.
All in all, with a bit of ingenuity (some may call it redneck redo - I prefer our hillbilly hotel), we have a nice, well running and reliable RV at a very reasonable cost.

So that's my story - have fun with yours!! And yes, your list will grow and grow and grow!
