2003 Fleetwood Class C LP Gas Leak Detector

I'm replacing this detector for the first time. The old unit is a CCI Controls Pre Tel 26. Do they still make this model? The unit has three wires. black, white and red with a white stripe. I have only found new models with two wires (white and black). Any advice?

Contact RV parts outlet. http://www.rvpartsoutlet.com

Your detector is no longer manufactured but they have an alternate. If you only find a 2 wire, the 3rd wire is for operating it from the starter battery as well as the house deep cycle battery so that there is an added backup power source for the detector. At least that is what it was on my prior RV (2001 Fleetwood jamboree with that same detector).

While you are at it, does your battery have a disconnect switch? I installed one on my rig to stop the parasitic drain from these detectors while parked/in storage.

The red and white wire may run to an electric solenoid shut off in your propane line. That was the case with my 2005 Isata, I purchased a kit on line ( can't remember where ) that provided a new gas detector and the replacement shut off valve. Don't purchase the 2 wire detector alarm it has no way to tell the shut off solenoid valve in your propane line to open up, that is what the 3rd wire is for, at least that is how my unit worked. Not a big job, the new parts are a direct fit, Google it, you should be able to find what you need.
