Search the forum for 5 Star Tune and you will get more info than you ever wanted to know.

Thumbs down Why do it?

There is a very god chance it will void any and all warranty coverage from Ford. Why would you want to mess with a perfectly good engine?

I could see spending the money and it is a lot of money, on an older, out of warranty rig if you wanted to enhance towing or just wanted more power for whatever reason.

IMHO: If the considerable stock power of the 6.8L V-10 mated to the 5 speed Torque Shift trans is insufficient for your new 2015 C you bought the wrong motorhome and there is little, if anything, a 5 Star Tune can do to change that.

We don't have the E450, but we did just order the 5 Star tune for our Bounder. We are hoping for a smoother shift pattern and less of the over-revving on small hills, etc. Time will tell whether it's a good thing or snake oil.

Beats me, but we'll probably be keeping our Bounder for a couple of more years. I'll keep an eye on the Ford Owners Section of the forum to see what discussion evolves as those hit the streets. We have pretty much decided that as "vacationers," we don't have any interest in a diesel so Ford's the only game in town going forward.

we're not diesel fans either...but if you need a 40'r that's the only game...

I like the class c's for usability,
after having the front wheels fall off of two ford f53's in a row we went diesel...that didn't last....

Well, you know how it goes. We always THINK we want something until we get it. We talk about a diesel (probably Discovery), but can't justify spending the $$ for something to sit in a storage facility 90% of the time. Then we go shop the dealerships, and come home thinking we'll stick with what we've got.

So hopefully the 5 Star tune will smooth out the high-revs in our V10.
