2016 Coachman Concord 300DS - Satellite?

Just bought our first motor home. Doing a little research before purchasing anything regarding satellite. I do have one question:

Can I simply connect a portable satellite dish to the exterior wall jack and then simply connect my DirecTV receiver to one of the jacks located at any of the 3 cubbys and expect it to work, or do I need to connect the dish directly to my receiver?

Thanks in advance,
SP

Chances are that you just can't connect your portable satellite lead to your exterior wall jack. I would imagine the jack is for hooking up to park cable and runs to/through your roof antenna amplifier. A lot of times a splitter type setup like that won't allow a satellite signal to get through.
In my current RV I had an exterior jack that was wired for an outside TV. I rewired that jack and now use that jack for my satellite cable hookup.

In my current RV I had a second exterior jack that was wired for an outside TV. I rewired that jack and now use that jack for my satellite cable hookup.
