450 Breakdown

Yesterday we were pulling out of a rest stop on interstate 75 when suddenly our Ford V10 450 motorhome was not getting any gas. We had to have it towed to Vienna Georgia in middle Georgia where there's a mechanic there who's worked on these a lot and he told me it sounds like a throttle body
I thought it was the fuel filter or the fuel pump
They ran the diagnostic tester and it came out that it was probably throttle body. They ordered one which took a day and we had to stay in a motel
And and $700 later I'm back on the road.
Actually we are lucky that it did not occur while we were traveling down the highway.

Usually throttle body itself is not bad. Rather some part of it and is serviceable to the component level.

It is a 2005.
They tried stuff first and didn't help.
I have no idea what they did.
They had to order the part and the next day they put it in and it worked

the only thing that comes to mind on the TB is the throttle position sensor ,about a 80 dollar part so Makes you wonder how they got to $700?

the only other item I can think of is the maf sensor on the aircleaner, a bit more money but certainly not $700 installed

Perhaps the $700 total included towing & motel stay.

You made out pretty good, a tow to the BIG city would have cost a bundle.
They knew that they had you over a barrel. Long live the carburetor!
