Could it be that your unit works with a remote control?? and that remote's batteries are too low??

I mention it because I have a fireplace in my home living room that beeps when batteries are low.

I found an Old smoke detector that had fallen down behind the TV that batteries were going dead. This after talking myself in and out of the fact it was coming from the A/C unit.
