A Safe in my Class C

We are becoming full-timers in approx. 3 weeks! house is sold. working on the move.
Does anyone have experience with a waterproof/fireproof safe in their rig? Mounts, size, location in RV, etc.
Canít wait to head to WY from Syracuse, NY, but have important stuff to protect.
Thank you.

Sentry makes quite a few safes in different sizes and different features. Most safes are water resistant. Some offer fire protecting for a certain time at various temps. Without knowing what you plan to put in it, it's difficult to recommend a size. I would get one slightly larger then you think you need, as there will be things along the way that you may want to secure also. Most safes have kits for securing them to your rig.

Wink Yep, got me a safe...

I installed a small Sentry safe in our Class C several years ago. The key is to secure it to the coach, I through bolted ours to the bottom of the closet using quarter inch ss bolts, double nutted with large flat washers. Could a bad guy remove it? Given enough time and tools perhaps but the purpose is to stop the snatch an run opportunists who might gain entry to the coach.

We use our safe on every trip to secure cash, prescriptions meds, electronics and even firearms as needed in certain states. Given how hot RV fires burn and the likely, lengthy response time I doubt that even a safe with a 30 minute burn time rating would protect the contents.

Any paperwork you can not live without needs to be duplicated and stored elsewhere.
