I bought this motorhome less than 2 months ago. It's a 1998 24ft class C with Ford E350 chassis with V10 power. The house batteries are two 6 volt deep cycle wired in series. The engine does not seem to charge the batteries but does charge while plugged in. With the engine running the coach lights will flicker bright and dim like the charging pulsates. I thought it may be the isolator. There is a Sure Power 1202 battery isolator in the engine compartment. I checked the voltage on all three posts and I'm getting about 15V on the inlet and 14.5 on both outlets. Voltage appears to be steady. My next step will be to check the voltage at the batteries while running the engine, check for fuses between isolator and battery. This is the extent of my checking so far. The guy I bought it from says he just replaced the batteries but didn't mention they were not charging while driving. Maybe he always plugged in and never noticed. Any thoughts or experiences with this?

With two 6 volt batteries drawing a lot of current trying to charge from the truck alternator, Sounds like you have a self resetting circuit breaker tripping and resetting.

There is probably one in the line between the isolator and the coach battery(s). follow the wire from the isolator back to the coach battery and I bet you find a self resetting circuit breaker.

I think I found the culprit. It was found between the isolator and the house batteries. It must be a fuse. It says Short Stop but can't make out the numbers. I'll have to do some research.
