Awning repair

Awning over my slide is showing wear on the edge. Anyone have experience with the awning repair tape that is sold. I also welcome any other suggestions for repair.

Find a boat canvas shop. You can get a replacement rather than use the tape on the edges. If the edges are frayed, rest of it is not in good shape either.

You can also use Gorilla Glue clear tape. I just put it on mine where I had a few spots I could see daylight through. But can't say how long it will last but i figured it would last longer than the tape you buy at the RV supply stores. We'll see.

I had a couple of peeling places on the slideout fabric so tried the awning repair tape a few years back. That stuff did work good. Only thing was, and as Nosticks stated, it only helped a bit because the rest of the fabric came apart shortly after.

Ended up replacing the fabric on the main and the slide a couple of years ago. Was kinda worried i might mess things up but the job ended up not being too difficult. What helped was finding youtube videos showing removal and re-installation procedures.

I tried the awning repair tape with poor results. I then used the Gorilla Tape and it is still holding up well.
