Back up camera

I just bought a Yada back up camera & monitor. I just hooked it up to my rear light to see if it worked. I have to rewire it to get it to stay on when I want it.
I think I'm going to have to run another line to the camera & monitor and have a toggle switch to turn them on.
Does any one know if I can put them on the same line and have them both come on when I put the switch in the on position?

I can't see any reason why that shouldn't work.

I installed a wired backup camera on mine, with power supply for monitor and camera both coming into the cab. I wired both to the radio power wire, so both are turned on when the ignition is on. I do have an off-on switch on the monitor so it can be turned off (it came that way), but the camera is always on when the ignition is on. I usually leave the monitor on while driving, so I can keep an eye on anything I am towing, and I can also see if someone is tailgating too close to see in the mirrors.

To answer your question, yes they can both be wired to the same point, as long as the fuse on that circuit is big enough to handle the extra load.

I installed one also it was a wireless system and I connected the camera power cable to the license plate light so when the lights are on the camera was powered up. ( I always drive with the parking lights or head lights on)
