To begin with I live at the base on the Olympic Mountains in Washington state, about a 45 minute drive to Aberdeen a coastal community. Myself and our five yr old grandson went to town to get gas, since we inherited the Mh. About six months ago and have only added a few gas cans of gas, Make a long story short and lack of skill I scraped the end of the barge rafter which had a screw sticking out. I looked in mirror swore I had plenty of room, WRONG. Anyway I tore the moulding loose from the back passage side of the mh. 3/4s of it is pull off, screws pulled out, I am not rich, and would like to try to fix it myself, Looked at molding can't figure out how to get to the screws. I have a 1996 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 30 ft. So mad almost thought about selling as is, I have done alot of TLC and was all hype up to use it for the first time in the real soon future. Now I am not sure when that will be. Pro is that I am going to ensure I have feet of clearance not inches.

Aw, what a bummer. I'm sorry to hear about your accident and I hope someone will be along soon that can help you figure out how to make the repairs. You might post in the Winnebago section to see if someone has experience with your 1996 model. Good luck to you. Don't get discouraged...we all have "those days."

Just highlight all the text that you want to copy and right click your mouse. Click on copy in the menu that pops up.
Open up the Winnebago forum and click on New Thread.

Click your mouse in the text area and right click, and click paste.

Theberrys. Thanks for the support and encouragement. Update its the molding that holds the back and side panels together. Also posted in Winnebago forum.

Will post picture soon, I pulled it together the best I could do by myself, then used the blue painters tape to hold together and to seal it up.

Hi ya wookingwood, what a bummer. Been there,done that. We were in Fish Bay, Wi. The DW was driving in the morning, we pull to the curb so she could make one last stop at the trinket shop to get some stuff for the grandkids, which we would be at there house in 3 days. Well the street really leaned to the right, one heck of a crown on the street. Well it was my job to look for the over hanging branches, well she pulled up just a few feet to make it easier to get out and I was sight seeing when BAM, RIP, TEAR, OMG WHAT THE HECK IS THAT. Well she stopped and I got out and looked up at the top right corner of the cab over, and WOW, WHAT HOLE. I MEAN A HOLE.GGGGGEEEEEEZZZZZZ she said my shoulders visibly sagged. Well I get back in and said well we better find a hardware store and get some duct tape, because we need to make a patch. At that time we had a truck camper. The camper was white, and as luck would have it the only color of duct tape the hardware store had was dark brown, so we got to a place where I could get something to stand on and put a duct tape patch on it. with the dark brown there was certainly no way to hide the patch. To be honest with you, I just thought hey, what the heck you have a project for when you get home, I'm on vacation and I was not going to let something like this ruin it for me. PERIOD, and it didn't. So don't beat yourself up to bad. You have a mh, you can fix, I'm sure you can. Take pictures as you go and put them in the album and the memory bank. Shortly you won't be bother by it. You are able to enjoy this great lifestyle. This will be a good story around the campfire in the future.
When the DW drives now I do not sight see, I do my job. The patch turn out real good, one of my sons in law restores Camero's and he put the fiberglass up there and painted to match the color, ever with some sun fade, you could not see the patch.
