had ours replaced this year. 44000 miles. along with all the brake parts up front: rotors, calipers, pads, hoses. less steering wander now. and maybe the new calipers wont stick and crack the rotors. i hope.
1700 bux. cost more than the rv :(

FWIW, 2002 Fords are notorious for the bad ball joints. They are "sealed" and supposedly don't require lubrication. I have a 2002 F250 Diesel CC and replaced them at around the 100,000 mile mark. If you do elect to replace them I would follow the advice I got on the Ford truck forum (Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com), use only MOOG ball joints that have grease fittings and be sure to grease them each and every oil change. I now have 249,000 miles on the truck and they are still going strong! Good luck!
