Battery Drain?

Our daughter and son-in-law just purchased a 1987 Ford Econoline Crossman motorhome and are in the process of refurbishing the inside. They've taken it in and had some mechanical work done, but the engine battery - when it sits for a week or so - needs to be charged with the battery charger in order to start. We had the auto shop test it, and it tests well (seems fairly new) - so we think there may be something draining it that we're unaware of??? I noticed that when you turn it off, the key will come out of the ignition when you turn it all the way to the left - but I thought maybe it was like our motorhome and you have to turn it one click to the right, then pull out they key. Could that be it?

Also, have any of you installed a "battery disconnect switch" on your class C motorhomes like the ones we have on our class A?

You can test with a meter off of the neg batt terminal to the neg cable to measure how much current draw is taking place while sitting. It is very easy to install a battery disconnect for the engine battery if one is not already there. My RV has disconnect switches on both the house and engine batteries.
