Anyone have a link or part number for a brighter headlight lamp? The stock lamps seem more like gas lanterns than headlights. We don't drive after dark unless we just have no other choice.

Check out dicussion of this topic at
Kodiak Headlights
We pick up ours today but we rarely drive at night so I'll have turn them on at night when it is sleeping on the pad behind the house and see what they are like.

Most of the auto parts stores sell the new super bright lamps that easily replace your existing ... and, yes, they make a tremendous difference ... note, however that they are expensive ... we paid around $58 for the bright and the supers were even more

Thanks Shadow. I am still waiting for some part numbers on that thread.
C Driver: do you have some part numbers you can share? I have not found a conversion chart yet for the C5500 chassis headlamp bulbs for the brighter variety.

I pulled mine out and took to Auto Zone and they had just about every replacment type there .... Easy to remove, just be a little careful when pulling

I agree that the low beam is worthless and the high beams work like the low beams should. I also checked mine out. 4 T-15 Torx screws hold on the plastic frame and 4 standard phillips screws hold the ring that holds the headlight in.
I found GE H5062/H4656 bulbs in the low beam and GE 4651 in the high beam on my 2006 Chevy C5500 Kodiak.
Sylvania Silverstar replacements can be found at Autozone. They have the 4656 and 4651 numbers on them.
