Big Foot slide problem

The dinette slide on my 28' Big Foot malfunctioned. I assumed it was a fuse problem, but could not find the fuse. I was afraid I would have to bring the slide in manually, but could not figure out how. The owner's manual did not address slides. Fortunately, the slide eventually reengaged. However, I am still 1400 miles from home, in warm, sunny California desert country. I tried to email Big Foot, but no response.

If this malfunction recurs can anyone tell me where I can find the fuse for the slide, although the problem is likely in the switch? Can anyone tell me how to bring the slide in manually?

Thanks for your help,

Warm and sunny, but with a feeling of dread

Some slides have circuit breakers instead of fuses.
When overheating occurs the circuit acts like a thermostat and disconnects to protect the electronics.
I would check the ground wire from the slide motor to the chasis and make sure it's clean and tight.
check for ease of slide with no binding problems.
Check the switch contacts by clicking on and off in rapid succession to clean the contacts.
Look on the slide motor for a break lever.
Turn lever, which will release it from the gear train and hopefully you and friend will be able to push slide in, then turn brake lever to reingage.

Good Luck,

Steve
