Bike rack

We have a Thor Freedom Elite 23u. What type of bike rack do we need and how do we attach it? We want to take our bikes with us.

I'd look for one that plugs into your hitch receiver on the back of the RV. If you plan to tow a car, then use a double receiver that allows you to have a tow bar (or dolly) and a receiver bike rack.

We bought a rack that fits both the 2 inch receiver on the RV and the 1 1/4" receiver on our Equinox. If we take the car, the rack can just stay on the car.

Hitch mounts are best when not towing. There are even ladder mounted units...

Here is the option I went with after a couple of years with the standard "L" shaped receiver hitch bike rack. The wife to be has a fairly expensive bike and she was getting upset about the scratching that occurred to the frame no matter what I did to prevent it.

The problem with some hitch mount racks is that with some of the different styles angled frames, no matter how you arrange the bike it is really close to the road surface. So. I went with this.

Hitch mount. It's a flat wheel carry unit that can either be a two bike OR conveniently goes to four, which is the other main reason I bought it. Discount ramps has a lot of different styles of carriers, and here is the one that I purchased. It is well made. Heavy. The platform style eliminates the bikes touching so I don't have to worry about damage. And it folds up when not is use.

I have had it for two seasons and the fiancee loves it, and it is easy to work with. The first part of the sentence was well worth the cost of the rack. lol

Check out 'e-trailer' for racks. I added an 8" extension and anti-rattle clamp.
A 2nd FAT fits with 'bars rotated 90 degrees...no biggie. Rides safe and solid.
