Cabover window covering options

After removing the custom non-factory cheesy over-built entertainment center from the cabover area in our new-to-us Four Winds, I discovered the day/night shade is in pretty bad shape. Because it has been hidden behind the entertainment center in the down position and not moved for who knows how long, it's really stiff and doesn't want to fold the pleats back up like they're supposed to. I'm also positive that one or all of the strings are going to break as well. I'm going to try a few methods to see if I can soften the material up a little bit but if we have to replace it, I'm considering curtains but I'd like to see what other options are out there. Would anyone mind posting pics of what they have for window coverings?

thanks!

I would replace the shades with something comparable. We purchased ours through the Orange Big Box store. If you order them that way, BE SURE to give them the exact measurements and instruct them to not make any allowances.

Also you might want to try using a heat gun on the affected area.
