Check your alignment

How many have bought a new class C within the last year? If you haven't already done so, get your front end aligned as soon as possible. I didn't realize mine was out of alignment until I discovered the inside tread on my Michelins was cupped and worn out in just 15,000 miles. I had noticed some vibration on the steering wheel and some handling problems.

I found out the cutaways are aligned perfectly at the factory, but when the chassis is built out, another alignment is necessary. In my case this was not done. I had the Ford Commercial Truck dealer do a proper alignment ($255.00) and mount and balance 2 new Michelins.

By the way when I asked my RV dealer about this, they seemed to play dumb saying they don't do alignments.

So a word to the wise, get an alignment done (but not at the RV dealer).

The alignment should be done with the rig loaded as it will be used.

I have had my 2016 Winnebago Spirit in 2 times and told them about a vibration at 0-15 mph. Was yours at this low of speed? The dealer says they can't feel it. Shouldn't dealer cover this under warranty?

Not just New, but maybe New to you. Had mine done almost right after purchase from reading here. Although Mine drove reasonable I felt the need from threads. I called a couple shops and the first one that handled larger rigs stated they were familiar with the RV problem, so in it went. $180 later it drove great but did add a steering stabilizer as the alignment shop stated it was shot. I was prepared to add more enhancements but felt that was good.

I had the same tire wear in just 800 miles on my new 2016 Winnebago Aspect. Wore both front tires down to the smooth part of the tire. Alignment shop said they had never seen tire adjustments this far out. It still pulls to right slightly and handles sloppy. Taking it to a commercial Ford shop soon to recheck. A real bummer.
