Class C Awning

Just purchased my first RV. I'm still happy so far. I understand the previous awning was left out when they left the camping spot and ripped it off. I only see one 2 inch bend in the guide and that is close to an end. My questions are these.
Power or manual? Why?
Best material to get?
Can a guy self install these? I'm somewhat mechanical
Any suggestions on length. What's too long ?
(I have a 24' Jayco Eagle series)
Where to get the best deal?
Any other words of wisdom?

JMHO: Manual , more functional , tilt for shade and slope to drain water. Power; one more thing to go wrong.
I've had both vinyl and fabric , maybe wishful thinking but I think I'm cooler under the fabric.
Install , because of the weight , will require help with the tube and some heavy duty ladders.
Length could easily be determined, and limited, by the availability of good structure in the wall to mount the brackets.
Haven't had to purchase one so can't help with price.

Find a similar unit and take measurements and pictures.

Last two MH's had the Dometic 9000 manual awnings. Never had any trouble with them other than a dealer damaging the cover when in their shop. Naturally I didn't notice it till we got home.
New rig has the Girard copies that Carefree makes. They are way up high and have very little slope on them. They are adjustable, but it takes two people and wrenches. Nice that they're electric and remote control but they don't give much shade on the ground. And no way to hang a sun screen from them either.
