I know the 1999 had the 4R100 and my 1997 F350 had an E4OD. The 1998 year was a transition year and I am not sure which it had. I believe the V-8 vans had the E4OD and the V-10 got the 4R100. You can take the VIN and call Ford and have them check. 1999 was the first year of the Super Duty in the F350.
