Has any one tried using a Optima "Blue Top", gell filled battery. The blue top is their marine battery same as in the coach. Optima also has red and yellow top batteries for different applications.
I have Optima batteries in the 99 Jeep and a 98 GMC truck. Install and they are truely maintenance free batteries the one in the GMC is seven years old and has never missed yet. You can mount them in any position seen them mounted in tandem in jeeps laying on their side no problems. Wonder how they would work in an MoHo application.
Take a look! http://www.optimabatteries.com/

thanks Mike

The only battery that Optima will warranty for use in a Jeep with a winch is the Yellow Top. I actually have two of them in mine using the Mean Green battery tray.

Due to their cost I think I would use plain old flooded cell in the vehicle. I would only consider the yellow top for the house batteries if 6volt golf cart batteries would not fit or the batteries need to be mounted on their sides.

MY APOLOGIES, PLEASE ALLOW ME TO RE-PHRASE MY QUESTION.

HAS ANY ONE EVER TRIED USING OPTIMA'S BLUE TOP BATTERY AS YOUR COACH BATTERY? THEY DON'T NEED WATER CHECKS AS OFTEN AS CONVENTIONAL BATTERIES.

HOPE THIS MAKES MORE SENSE!!!!!
