I have a 5er built as a Coachman by Brookstone. What they call the D seals on the slideouts, the ones stuck to the wall of the trailer are failing after 18 months. The seals are like little bike inner tubes and they get pinched by the slideout against the wall and go flat. Mine started at the top seals so keep an eye on them. This in my opinion is a factory defect and Coachman has agreed to replace them with a different seal even out of warrantee.

Hopefully they have updated the material they use for them. I kept an eye on all the ones I have had on other slides. They do make a dressing you can use on them to keep them from aging too quickly....

The WH shut off valve is located behind a 2-screw panel beneath the fridge (for Winterizing purposes).
The low point drains are behind a panel at the bottom of the shower.

Just got an update from dealer. Factory said it is scheduled to be finished Oct. 7th. Hopefully will have it by the middle of the month.

John,
I know exactly how anxious you feel.
Just FYI I had my SIL video tape my PDI walk thru and put it on a DVD for future reference as I was a newbie.
Just a tip - make the person show and demonstrate all your features.
Other things I didn't think to ask at the time:
- how to put air into rear tires
- rear air bag pressure
- location of WH shut off valve and low point drains
- maintenance schedule for Onan generator
- making sure all outside water inlets are labeled
- detailed explanation of in dash radio/cameras
- how to remove indoor overhead light covers to remove bugs
These are some things I had to figure out the hard way or from Ron Ross at Coachmen.
Any questions I can help you with I would be glad to help.
BTW I'm having a problem with my Project 2000 electric step and will take to dealer soon under warranty.
Enjoy your new Leprechaun!!!!

319DSF, Maybe you didn't see it, but I sent a private message to you. I wanted to know the distance from the center of the front axle to the center of the entrance door. Thanks for all the info....John

I'll be out there Saturday and try to get a measurement.
Just wondered why that was important?

319DSF, It isn't really important. I park the MH behind my house and from a deck to the MH is some grass. I put down pavers as a walkway to the door to keep from wearing a path in the grass. Since the entrance to the last MH was different than the one before, I took out the walkway and reseeded. Now I have to go through the process again. Thanks.

Ed, I missed your post and hope you have picked up some info since. Gas mileage will vary quite a bit between Motor Home weight and how you drive. I have had 3 V-10's and they varied. You can expect a range form 7 to 11 mpg. A small B+ driven conservatively to a larger Class A driven hard. Regardless of mpg, I really think it is a great engine.
The reason we decided to get the 319DS is because we love the floor plan.

Now, that makes perfect sense!
Will be out at "Leppy" later today and will advise.

Can't get a reason for the 'F' at the end.
My thought was Ford chassis.

Yep. The WH shut off valve is behind a 2-screw panel beneath the stove.
