My wife and I have been shopping for a mh and after driving many have landed on a super c. I would be very grateful for any guidance this community may be kind enough to share on the model we are looking at. It's a 2006 Gulfstream Ultra Super C on the Kodiak chassis wih an 8.1.

We settled on a Super C this summer - a 2009 Seneca on a Kodiak chassis, duramax diesel. So far, I've been very happy with the decision. One of many important factors to us was gross cargo capacity - a C on a van chassis with bunks just didn't have much wiggle room, once you factored in family and gear. The super C gives us storage and weight capacity galore, and makes towing a non issue as well.

We did look at a Gulf Stream Ultra, I believe around the same year as the one you are looking at - nice build but the Seneca was a better floor plan for our family. You will like the solid build on the Kodiak chassis though!

If you find a floor plan that works for you, and you can stay within cargo tolerances, there are a lot of nice Cs out there but for us, the Super C made a lot of sense and I haven't looked back - I don't think you would be disappointed.

I have a GS Supernova, but on IH chassis and diesel. The MH part has been very nice and overall no real problems. Really like the extra storage and no concerns about weight. Ours has king size bed which is nice.

Own a 2008 super c (super Nova) 34ft I pull a 28ft car trailer that weighs about 9500lbs. The wife myself and 2 small dogs. Drives like a cadillac. I did find out on the last outing that I've been keeping it between 58-62 mph and it runs ok but running behind time wise last wk I stepped it up and it runs so much better and pulls the hills with ease.just by raising the rpm from 2200 to 2400. Just be aware of the additional hight . Good luck.

We have a new 2014 37TS Seneca. It has a Freight liner Chassis, with a Cummings 6.8 Diesel Engine, and Allison Tranny.
We love the Super C, it's everything we need, loads of storage very drivable and plenty of power. Once we get all the bugs worked out from buying new... I'm sure we will enjoy it more. I am told by some more mature RV'rs, that buying new, you will have to get all the bugs worked out, and so far there have been quite a few, minor but they are there.

Welcome to iRV2. Our 2004 Gulf Stream has been a great MH for us. The Kodiak chassis has been good. What is model number of the Super C you have selected. Mine is a 6340 with Duramax engine. Now have over 80,000 miles on it. Very few problems.
There is a forum for Kodiak Chassis Motorhomes. Lots of data for the Super C's there.

don't know if you have gone thru with the purchase yet, but we have an 2007 Jayco greyhawk 32ft, on an 5000 Kodiak chassis with an 8.1 chev. We have put about 50,000 miles on it, and have gone from Seattle to Alaska, to Az for the winters. We have been very happy with the unit, I have updated the suspension with roadmaster sway bars, safe steer, track bar and Bilsten shocks. We normally dry camp for about 4 months and have the unit to work very well........ It runs and drives very well, and the wife drives as much as I do, we tow an 08 Dodge Dakota behind without any problems. Our gas mileage runs between 7 and 7.5 mpg running at 63 mph.....hope this helps you some..............
