When we had our 30ft Class A, I had a cover I put on it to protect it from the harsh Nevada sun. But the wind here would destroy it pretty quickly. Plus it was a big pain to get it up on the roof and roll it out, especially if a gust of wind came out of nowhere which is common here..

When we sold it and got a used 06 31ft Tioga that had always been garaged, I had a 3 sided metal carport built. I think it ran around $3800 back in 2010, but well worth it knowing the rig was completely protected. Now we use it for our 5th wheel while we see our neighbors RV's slowly fading from the sun and ours still looks new. Keeping them covered will really help resale as well. Our 06 Tioga still looked new when we sold it in 2017 as it had been under cover its entire life and consequently got a great price for it.
