So what are the differences between a 26' and 28' class C? Does the extra length live that much better? Is the bathroom bigger? Do they drive the same?

I'll be pulling a 22' bass boat and don't want to get this rig too long but want to be comfortable as well.

The obvious difference is 2 feet. As for the bathroom, it all depends on the floor plan. How it drives is pretty much the same. The longer will probably be a few hundred pounds heavier.

The amount of overhang will be more critical than the length. There are some long-bodied Class Cs on short wheelbase E450 dhassis out there, particularly in the 2005 - 2010 model years. We looked at a Forester briefly, but decided against it because of the risk of overloading the rear axle.

The waste and water tanks were all aft of the axle, and you probably would have to dump before travelling. I'm also not sure how tail swing would affect the dynamics of towing something behind. It would certainly put a sizeble side load into the chassis extensions under the aft body.

If the wheel base is the same (and it likely is) tail swing will be much greater. DAMHIK.

I had the same concerns buying mine and I ended up going with the 26 for a few reasons, I needed a reduced over hang due to the angle of my driveway? And it was lighter for pulling my boat, in most cases you lost the north south bed which a lot of the time in an older coach is tucked into the corner I Lou of a east west bed ( didn't bother me ! Gives me a chance to cop a feel on the DW when I get up in the morning!! Lol )

Thanks! Yea, I think I'm going with a 26' for the reasons above. I looked at some yesterday and I couldn't tell much difference inside but the over hang outside was the hook for me.

I haven't dropped the hammer yet but have it narrowed down to 09 Coachmen Freelander, 2007 Forest River Forester 26.5Ft and 2005 Itasca Cambria 26A.

We have a 2005 Winnebago Aspect 26A, the "twin" of the Cambria, and just love it, with the only exception being the corner bed. However, we've gotten used to it. It handles like a big van, gets 10-11 mpg when driven conservatively and is a quality built motorhome. I don't think you could go wrong with the Itasca.
