Do Most Use Electrical Monitoring System
I have a new Thor 22E, 23' and was wondering if most owners install a monitoring system for shore power. I have read where problems are encountered with surges as well as low voltage in some rv parks.

I have no idea if most do. But my Progressive Industries EMS saved me, cost my neighbor $3500. Was a hit on a transformer.
Just do it. You will sleep better!
Happy trails!

Like all forms of insurance, it's a roll of the dice. If you stay at the cheaper campgrounds, I would expect a greater risk of problems, based on my experience.

It rolled pretty good for me!
Bought in May. We move a lot.
Transformer strike in June. $3500 cost for neighbor, after deductible.
Brown outs in August. Several!
Over voltage in October.
Loss of ground on pedestal in January; RV Resort.
Paid for itself many times, and a lifetime warranty!

Right now, we're using a "Digital Line Monitor" - $50 at CW. Offers no surge protection, but does alert to pedestal problems at the campsite. Like others, we pull the plug when an electrical storm approaches to protect from spikes. Plan on buying the Progressive EMS-PT30C when the next welfare check arrives.

I would like to suggest buying a 50A model. Fully adaptible to your 30A rig, and you are set if you upgrade.
I think I am right. Maybe others can advise.

As a "former"(I love retirement!!) insurance sales person, I told my customers that what u buy with insurance , of any kind, is piece-of-mind. One cannot always put a figure on what "insurance" costs or saves them. But if u sleep better at night then it was a good decision.
That's just my humble, though highly respected, opinion! HA!

I say that insurance is very expensive if you never use it and very cheap if you do. The sleeping in between is great too.

I just bought a Progressive EMS. I also monitor the battery with a Victron battery monitor and monitor the Morningstar solar controller that will tell me panel output in volts and battery voltage a bit redundant with functions for the Victron. Both the Victron and the Morningstar have computer interfaces. OK so I am a bit obsessive.
