I have looked at those, and while they have a 5K hitch, the GCVR is around 15,250 lbs, while the GVWR is 11,030 lbs. meaing the tow capacity is aroung 4,200 lbs. if you are close to the CCC. I haven't looked at one in a while, but the Via, if memory serves me, has a CCC around 1500-1600 lbs. From my read on the jeep cherokee, weights are somewhere in the upper 4K to 5K. You may be overweight.

What kind of towing do you do? Any extensive mountain driving (like out west) and driving in high temps?

thanks

The curb weight on my 2000 GC is 3955 lbs. We travel light and watch the weight closely. We primarily travel in the Southeast.

Sorry, I was looking at weights of late model GC's. Looks like they have gotten a little bit more hefty since 2000!

I think this thread has been hijacked! Still of interest however.
