Exclamation Dreaded Cabover Repair

Getting ready to start the dreaded cab over rot repair. Looking at all the threads I could find, I still have a few questions. I am working on a 2003 Itasca 31T. I plan on eliminating the front window and installing a new piece of Filon on the cab over.
So, before I start I would like the get more information on the following
1. Am I correct that I have to remove the top cap to remove the existing Filon?
2. Can I use 3/4" plywood for the bed replacement

I will probably be looking for a lot more help as I proceed and also plan to document my process including pictures.

Thanks in advance for your help

Have you done a search of the forum. I recall a couple discussions about the cab over repair and one where the fellow posted photographs. Cannot tell you which thread it was though - sorry.

Dreaded cab over

Looked at all threads available but most were either wood framed, mine is aluminum, or have aluminum siding, mine is Filon
