E450 side mirrors loose

On my 2000 Itasca Spirit, every bump makes them move away from where they should be. It's not the arm, but the mirror swivel. I had to wedge a piece of cardboard under it to make it home. The little allen or star set screw cannot be tightened any more, and the mirror is still loose. Any good tricks to make it stay put and still be adjustable would be appreciated.

Trying loosening enough to pull the mirror completely out and checking to see if the where the mirror seats(allen screw) can be replaced or relocated. Mine has a sleeve around the post of the mirror. The sleeve can be turned/repositioned and/or eventually replaced I would imagine.
