Electric Trailer Brake Search

I cannot find the brake controller wiring connector in my 2017 Coachmen Prism. This coach has a 7 pin trailer hook up, so I am assuming it has a brake controller connector, somewhere in the cab. The only we have so far is under the drivers sea, 2 white and 1 gray connector. Does anybody know the answer to my mystery. I would really be appreciative. Thanks Jim

Welcome to iRV2.

Sorry I can't give a definite answer , as to pre wiring for a trailer brake controller .
But I will say that the seven pin connector at the rear is not an indication that the wiring, into the cab, exists.
If it does , it would be under the dash , probably on the firewall.
Taking your chassis serial number to the Ford(?) dealer; and asking about a pre wire for controller; could help clear things up.

Look up under the dash, probably on the outboard side. There will either be a connector or a pigtail. Often it is taped and pushed up under the dash. On my 2014 F-53 it was a pigtail with a Ford sticker on it defining the wire colors and functions. It's there but you may have to hunt for it as it may have been taped to another cable.

Oops. after further research,it doesn't look like Mercedes ships with a factory brake controller connection. There are videos about wiring a trailer...from scratch...including a brake pedal bracket and switch for the controller...

I’m not aware of any provision by Mercedes to accommodate a brake controller. You are going to on your own with this one. Mercedes makes extensive use of the CanBus system and if can find a controller that operates in that environment you could probably make it work.
